Tension rising in Flat 37, Kilmorey Hall
One would think that after a day spent staring at my computer screen the last thing I would want to do is sit down and write a blog, but screw it, I might as well...
Now, I appeal to those of you who have ever had to write a dissertation in their lives, or been in the same family as somebody working on their dissertation. Mega-stressful environment, yes? OK, now plonk 9 girls, some of whom are already PMS-ing (heq-hum!), and have dissertations to work on, into one flat. You wouldn't want to be there would you? Neither would I.
Though as it so happens, I am.
At the moment we seem to be taking it in turns to have nervous breakdowns - mine was Sunday, and Christine took up yesterday and today. The poor thing lost a weekend's worth of work of her dissertation on her computer, and given the little time that she has to work on it due to her lab experiments and part time job in central London, she was more than a little upset tonight, and I gave a very vain attempt to try and comfort her. Nothing along those lines has happened to me (and touch wood, they won't), but I was plagued by a bad attack of self-doubt on Sunday which caused me to be on edge for a large portion of the day, unfortunately for my flatmates. In the end I just decided to suck it up, and figured that my moaning wasn't exactly getting me anywhere (yes I realise that I am moaning now, but you people read this page in order to see what's up in my life and this is it at the moment :P). I'll be glad when mum eventually gets here, so that she can calm me down by being all mum-like with boob to boob hugs and an encouraging word when I need it.
Life, as it tends to do, shall go on... and one day this dissertation-writing process will be all but a distant memory for me. It can't come soon enough for me, at this point, but going on about it does nothing to help matters so I shall end this blog here.
Wishing all of you relatively less stress in your lives... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
